Back when I was getting thrown off Twitter regularly, my lib daughter-in-law gave me a plaque that said

"Tweet others as you wish to be tweeted."

AS IF I were just being an asshole.

She had no idea that conservatives were banned just for being conservative.

So you just arrived here from twitter and it's quiet. Real quiet. That's because there's no algorithm here designed to drive engagement(which equals profit).

Here, you are the algorithm. It's up to you to find and follow people that are interesting to you. You can also see who they follow and who else follows them, as you build it up, it gets more interesting.

Also, if you find people you don't like or entire instances you don't like, you can mute or block them. You are in control.

a) Google have been caught lying about what info they keep and use in court before (eg. Google Maps cars and SSID's)

b) their privacy policy pretty much just states all their services correlate your info

c) their own DNS privacy policy states that they *permanently * keep:

*Requested domain name
*Client's autonomous system number
*Timestamp
